Operation Windy Cadence refers to the conflict that took place between the Tresarian Navy and The Death Watch between Year 18 Day 17 and Day 232. Death Watch forces under the command of Peter Max attacked the Tresarian Navy as it was preparing to withdraw from Serroco after participating in a training exercise with the Imperial Army's 2nd and 6th Brigades. The Tresarian Navy was initially caught off guard by the attack, but was able to rally and push The Death Watch and its allies back, inflicting heavy losses in subsequent days of the battle. On Day 232, after over two weeks of intermittent fighting, Peter Max conceded defeat and withdrew from Serroco.
Background
Prior to the battle, the Tresarian Navy participated in a training exercise with the Imperial Army 2nd and 6th Brigades from Day 186 to Day 189. The training exercise was cut short due to unforeseen logistical concerns, and the Imperial Army departed Serroco shortly afterward. At the command of Fleet Admiral Kevin Wolff, the Tresarian Navy remained on Serroco to continue practicing combat maneuvers in Serroco's wilderness.
Battle
Initial Attack
Operation Wind Cadence began on Day 217 when a squad of Battle Droids under the command of Okrim Rimdor was attacked by K-4 Security Droids led by Lucas Dragomir. Dragomir destroyed twelve Battle Droids, losing forty-eight K-4s in the process, before withdrawing. It's speculated that Death Watch command did not intend for Dragomir to attack at that time, since he was accompanied by only K-4s and his attack was unsupported by other Death Watch officers. The use of K-4s as opposed to other, better equipped, troops might indicate that Dragomir had been sent to scout out Tresarian forces while remaining relatively inconspicuous by masquerading as a security force hired by the local government or private companies. Regardless of whether the attack had been planned beforehand, it caused enough confusion to allow Death Watch ships to land within the city.
Tresarian Counterattack
Several hours after the attack, Tresarian forces pushed back against the newly landed Death Watch troops and, despite taking comparatively heavy casualties, were able to control several key intersections within the city. In the aftermath of this fighting, Peter Max broadcasted a message to Death Watch members across the galaxy, lauding The Death Watch's apparent victory based on favorable casualty ratios.
